Hot on the heels of the launch of the new 2008 Green Guide to Specification from the Building research Establishment (BRE), Kestrel, the leading manufacturer of no lead, no tin, 100% calcium organic UPVC building products, is pleased to announce the launch of a technical bulletin on the subject.
Dr Sean Cockett, Technical Director of UPVC roofline and PVC cladding products manufacturer Kestrel explains why this bulletin has been launched: “The new Green Guide has recognised the sustainable benefits of PVC by awarding UPVC cladding and its installed components an A+ rating – the highest possible for any material.
“This is great news for the industry and important for specifiers to understand the implications of. But it’s not always easy to get to grips with such reports when you’re busy researching and specifying the right materials for your projects. That’s why we wanted to produce an easy to use outline of the Green Guide and its findings, and what that means for our cladding customers directly.”
