The open day, on April 26, saw customers brave April snow and hail to visit the company’s new site on Shakespeare Road, an industrial area of the town.
General manager of UK Roofing and Plastic Supplies Graham Gerrans said that the move was part of a larger plan to expand the company’s operations.
“Our new unit is larger, more modern and has better access for vehicles, which will improve our service to customers,” he said.
“We moved earlier in the year and have seen an upturn in sales, in part thanks to the location which is near builder’s merchants and other suppliers. In time, we plan to open more outlets in other parts of the south-east.”
Kestrel was one of UK Roofing and Plastic Supplies’ major suppliers showcasing products at the event.
Keith Hart, Kestrel’s business development manager for the southeast, said that the day had seen particularly strong interest in the Kavex textured uPVC cladding products.
“Similar to the FIT Show, we are finding significant interest in Kavex among installers,” he said. “The range of colours we can now offer in the Kavex range offers installers greater versatility.
“UK Roofing and Plastic Supplies new premises are in a great area for trade suppliers and we look forward to working with the team as their plans for expansion gather pace.”
Set up in 1977, UK Roofing & Plastic Supplies Ltd has been a Kestrel distributor for around five years and has seen consistent growth in sales of roofline and fascia products.
“Even through the more difficult years towards the end of the recession, we saw year-on-year growth in sales,” Graham added. “The quality, consistency and ease of fitting with Kestrel products make them ideal matches for our customers.”
